About the Seventh Grade Program

Parents will need to complete all sections of the Admission Application and submit the application fee. Our Admissions Staff will call to schedule a school tour. We have very small class sizes so your child will have the attention he or she needs to excel.

Curriculum

Bible: Bob Jones Press | Study Christ’s example through His experiences, sermons, miracles, and parables. Contains a brand new unit going verse by verse through the Sermon on the Mount.

Literature: | Students are introduced to a biblical perspective on theme books. Students are taught to interpret, analyze, evaluate, and appreciate authors, works, themes, and terms in light of Scripture

Math: Bob Jones Press | Algebraic expressions and linear equations are applied throughout a comprehensive review of operations on integers, fractions, decimals, percents, and radicals. Students explore relations and functions using equations, tables, and graphs. This is a great transition into the “dialectic stage” of math.

History-World Studies: Bob Jones Press | A look at the civilizations of the world through the lens of a Christian worldview. World Studies begins with a brief review of history from Creation to the coming of Christ and progresses in a chronological journey around the world studying the ebb and flow of empires, cultures, Christianity, and world religions, concluding with an examination of the trends of the emerging 21st century.

General Science: Bob Jones Press | This course is designed to be a systematic introduction to science in general and has no prerequisites. The student will learn about the scientific method, designing experiments, simple machines, archaeology, geology, paleontology, biology, human anatomy and human physiology in an introductory way. No lab equipment is required. Necessary materials for experiments are common household items.

English 7: Bob Jones Press | Students are introduced to various ways to learn word meanings and use Latin word parts to teach recognition of word families. Topics include synonyms, antonyms, homonyms, positive and negative context clues, and words.

Writing/Grammar: Bob Jones Press | All eight parts of speech are taught, the five basic sentence patterns, usage concepts such as subject-verb agreement and clear pronoun reference, and mechanics. Introduce complex sentences. Reference chapters include dictionary skills, library skills, study skills, and an overview of the writing process. Writing projects include a biographical sketch, an in-class essay, a letter to the editor, a book report, and poetry. Literature from the classics.
